Coopers Town
This past Summer my family and I went to Coopers Town. We had to go because my brother played Baseball there. I didn't really like it. First we had a 3 hour car ride to our house. Then when we got there it turns out that there was no WiFi. I thought that I brought my laptop for nothing. My brothers friend rented a house next door. So I got the WiFi from there but I had to sit outside.
My cousins, aunt and uncle came for the weekend. So I got to hang out with them. I brought some stuff to play with so I wasn't too bored. The house was on a lake so that's why there was no WiFi. I got to go swimming in there. It was a little cold but there was some warm spot. Over all it was okay at least I got to watch TV. I could use the WiFi outside though. I'm glad that I never have to go there again.

Girl scouts fled trips.
Being in Girl scouts means that we got to go on a lot of fun trips. I'm going to tell you about 2 fun trips that we went on. One of them at Great Wolf Lodge. The other one was sleeping with fish.We had to make money for them. They were worth it though. I thought both of these trips were fun.
We go to go to Great Wolf Lodge one year for a trip. I slept in a room with my mom sister and my friend Kayla with her mom. We got to go on water slides, eat, play in the in arcade and the quest. We only got to stay one night though. I had lots of fun though.
Next trip was sleeping with the fish. During this trip we got to a craft, eat dinner and learn about fish. My troop got the turtle room. This trip is amazing for little kids who are in Girl Scouts. Both of these trips are fun so if your in Girl scouts and your teacher needs trip ideas. You should tell her about these trips.

Context
Since the Summer I've been trying to wear context. I've been wearing glasses since I was 2 years old. My mom and dad think that it's try to get context. A few weeks ago I went to the eye doctor for my appointment. My dad was talking to the Doctor about getting them. I had to watch a video it was about how to get them in and out. After I watched the video it was time to try and get them in.
It took at least 4 appointments. Then when I came the forth time I finally got them both in. I was so happy that they were in. I didn't wear them at school but after school I put them in everyday. I'm staring to like them more and more. I'm still not wearing them at school because I"m afraid if they will fall out. Soon maybe I'll wear them at school but I'm sure when. I guess once I get used to them maybe I will wear them at school.

My first train ride
The first time on a train ride was back in the year of 2010. We were going to the Disney Cruise. That was my wish from Make A Wish. We didn't feel like driving so we took a train to Florida. I thought that I wouldn't have a lot of fun but I did.
First we took a limo to the train stop. It was my first time on the limo too. Then we got on the train and ate some food. We had 2 carts my mom sister and I had one. Ours had bunk beds and a real bathroom. Then my dad and brother had one with 2 couches and a toilet.
During the day I played with toys and explored. During the night I watched movies and slept. I didn't sleep good because every time the train stopped it woke me up. Over all it was lots of fun and a new way to get around. Instead of sitting in one car seat for 18 hours. I got to move around to different parts of the train. I loved the train and I can't wait to go on again some day.

My favorite special stuff bear
Everyone has something that they sleep with since they were little. When I was two I loved the show The Book Of Pooh on Disney. Then for my second birthday my grandma gave me him. I loved him ever since and I still do till this day. After that I was a huge pooh bear fan.
Every Christmas I got a new pooh bear toy, video or stuff animal. After my sister and I got out own rooms I decide to change my room. I wanted it to be Pooh Bear themed and I was so excited when it was done. Now I'm 14 years old and I still love him. I still got the same room, toys and stuff animals. He is my favorite special stuff bear.

Horror! the movies your siblings watch
Have you ever had your sibling watch a scary movie. Then she wants you to watch them. After that she wants you to read the book. Well than you came to the right place. In this blog I'm going to talk about just that. I have a sibling like that it's actually my twin sister Julia. She loves watching and reading the Hunger Games, Divergent and things like that. I know that kids in my grade do read and watch those stuff too.
I personally don't like them at all. I don't like any movie that is scary or has blood in it. You know stuff like that. I stick with Disney and animated movies. Anyways my sister goes crazy when a new movie comes out. My uncle and sister and sometimes my brother go to the movie theater and watch them. The Hunger games always come out on are birthday. Divergent comes out on my uncles birthday.

If you guys have this problem with you siblings. I know what you guys can do. You can try to ignore it that's mostly what I do. I don't really care about what she watches. If she wants me to watch I tell her I don't want to. So that's one of the things that I have to live with.

About tomorrow
Hey guys tomorrow is the day for the event. Julia and I are really excited for it. It will be right after the older girls class tomorrow. It'll run for 30 minuets so 10:00 - 10:30. If you guys are reading this I hope you can make it. Now I'll tell you guys what were going to do.
First were going to have a snack. We will have munchkins from Duncan Doughnuts. Then my sister and I planed some games for you guys to play. You and your siblings will all be a team and compete in these games. After that were going tell some stories to each other. The stories can be about anything. Again I hope you can make it if you can see you there. If you can't I hope you can come next time.

What is Saturday stars
The program that I do is called Saturday stars. It's for disabled children with all different kinds of needs like me. They have a class that everyone likes. They have piano, cooking, dance, music and sports. They also have many events like the benefit dinner. The kids perform for our parents, grandparents and siblings. They raise money for the fund. That's one of the events we do. The other one we do is 5k. People walk or run a race to raise money Now here are some pictures of us.

Type my life
Hey guys today I'm going to do something like a draw my life. Instead I'm going to type my life. On November 21st 2000 2 little cute baby girls were born. They were twins one named Julia and me Kathleen.
They said that I had to stay there until Christmas but then I could go home. Then 2 years later my brother was born. Few years went by and I had to go to school.
You might know my Kindergarten life threw my sisters blog. Anyways during Elementary school I was very shy so I followed my sister around. Each year I tried to talk little by little every year. Then I went on to Middle School and I had an aid. Her name was Mrs. Gibbons and she helped me all threw Middle School. Also during those years I met some new friends and we are still friends till this year. I went to Washington DC for a class trip and I had a great time.
This past summer I graduated from 8th grade. I had 2 amazing parties one with my family then one with my friends. Now I'm in High school and I had so much to look forward to. Like getting drivers permanent and so much more. I still have a lot more time to grow up. That's my life so far I hoped you guys enjoyed it.

When a friend moves away
My mom had a best friend named Lauren. They met in 7th grade and their still friends today. Lauren had a kid named Michael. I have known him since we were babies. Last summer he moved away to Ohio to live next to his cousin. We had so many great times together. We went to the movies, had sleepovers and so much more. We used to see them every weekend but now we only see him a few months. Sometimes we miss them very much.
We have seen each other a lot of times ever since they moved. They came and visited us a couple times. We visited them last year after Thanksgiving. Our moms still text each other very often. So if you had a friend that moved away here are some tips. First you can video chat them on the computer. Second you can text or call them on the phone. Lastly you can ask your parents if you can visit them one time. So if you friend moved away you can still see them.

sleeping problems
When my siblings and I were little we always wanted a TV in our room. Just because our friends had them in their room. We all begged and begged but our parents told us no. One day last summer I couldn't sleep I don't remember why. I wanted to either sleep in my parents room or the living room. My parents said I couldn't sleep in either. So every night I waited for them to fall asleep. Once they were both asleep every night I went downstairs to sleep on the couch. After a few nights of doing that my parents said I couldn't anymore. Then they asked me what helps me sleep besides sleeping with someone else. I said the TV light flashing. So I think we were getting it.
My mom and dad finally said yes. Christmas 2014 was when we got them but we got them a week earlier. It was the best Christmas present ever. At first I had the TV that was in the playroom because mine wasn't ready. Then after a week or so it finally came. I had for a few months now and I love it and now I watch it all time. Every morning afternoon and at night. Plus I keep it on every night and now I sleep good. It was the best present I ever got.

How I got my dog cricket
My sister and I were about 7 years old and my brother was 5. My dad dropped us off at my grandmas because we were going to spend the night. My dad said that if we were good he would get a surprise. I wonder what it will be? So I tried being good as possible. My dad and mom went to the animal shelter to go look at the puppies. They found a perfect one for us. It was a black lap and a English pointer as know as a hunter dog. Her name was cricket. My mom said she was named right after my great grandmas dog.
When we came home my dad opened the door, My siblings and I heard barking we went upstairs. Then we found our mom holding the puppy. We all gather around her trying to pet her. My cat whiskers comes on the couch licking my dog. My family and I watch as they lick each other. We all think that it's so cute. Then my siblings and I go to our rooms to go to sleep. My parents come in to say goodnight. I see them take my dog upstairs to sleep.

How to stop bullying
One day in seventh grade someone was bullying me behind my back. I asked myself I wonder who? I also ask myself what did they want with me? So that day after school I talked to my mom. Then as we were talking my sister came in. She told me that one of my classmates made fun of me. Julia said that he said I walked funny and other things like that I don't remember. Some disabled kids do get bullied at school.
If you get bullied then here's what you need to do. Step 1 get a teachers or parents and tell them what happened. Step 2 Let the teacher or parent talk to the bully. Step 3 The bully probably would stop and tell your apologies. That's just it how simple is that. So if someone is bullying you just follow theses steps. The bullying probably will stop.

My sister and I are different
My sister and I may be twins but we are very different. We both like different things for example different TV shows. I like Sponge bob Square pants. I also like having different things than her. I like collecting Disney things like tsum tsum which are little Disney stuff animals. We also do different things like I do horse back riding and swimming lessons.
Now here are some things that my sister likes. One of her favorite TV show is Pretty Little Liars. It's about bunch of girls who have to find this person named A. Most of girls like this show but I think it's scary. She also likes to play Basketball. I'm not allowed to play that many sports but she's really good.
We do like some of the same things for example makeup. Julia started teaching me so much about makeup and now I love it too. I sometimes watch You tube videos about it. We also love fashion when ever we go shopping we always help each other. We also like Once A Upon A Time. I like because there are some Disney characters in it. Like Anna and Elsa from Frozen. Sometimes we get along really good. We might fight here and there. Were twins and we have to live with each other.

Poetry #1
So today's post is going to be a little different. Not many people know this, but I love to write poetry. So today I am sharing a poem with you guys, enjoy! :)
She left for her room
I took out the trash
She watched TV
What About Her?
I am asked to rinse the dishesShe left for her room
I took out the trash
She watched TV
Why? I wondered
How come? I thought
What about her? I asked
Not fair! I reasoned
I went to school
She was out for a week
I served the guests
She acted as if she were invited
Why? I wondered
How come? I thought
What about her? I asked
Not fair! I reasoned
The song I sang at least once a day.
a nurse delivering the daily dosage
Trying to answer the impossible
Why?
How come?
What about her?
Not fair!
But the answers to the impossible
are possible
When I am asked to rinse the dishes
She is finishing homework
When I took out the trash
She had a migraine
Why? her I wondered
How come she must endure? I thought
When I went to school
She was getting surgery
When I served the guest
She was learning how to socialize
I stopped asking
What about her?
And started asking
What can I do to help?
The message behind the poem can be interpreted many different ways, but overall our disabled siblings may get out of a few chores, but have to face much worse.
~Julia
Wishes can come true
When I was 10 years old one of my wishes came true. My wish was to go on the Disney cruise I also wanted a horse but that didn't happen. One night some people came there from the Make A Wish they told me I can have 1 wish. They are such a great company. They paid for everything and even I got us a limo to ride in. They let us go on a train to get their and that was fun.
I had a blast on the cruise ship. My grandparents, aunts and uncles and one of my cousins all came. We went swimming, to the threader, and had dinner together every night. One night they had pirates night when people dressed like them and they watched a show. The cruise ship went to Saint Thomas,Saint Marten and Castaway Key. I loved the cruise it was so much fun. I've been on their 3 times and I'm going on again next summer.

Long beach Island house building
Yesterday I talked Hurricane Sandy and what my family did during that. Well theirs more to the story. My grandma has a house down at Long beach island. All of my family on my moms side all go down there every summer. My grandma used to have a small house down there. Their were two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, 4 bedrooms, and a kids room. Also 2 outside showers. Then it got distorted in Hurricane Sandy.
Only the bottom floor got ruined not the top. My grandparents didn't know what to do with it. Their choices were either fix the first floor or rebuild the whole thing. They decided to rebuild the whole thing. It took over 2 years to build. That's a long time but now it's better for everyone. It's really big and their's tons of room for the whole family. My family, grandparents, and 2 cousins stay at the house. One of my uncles has a house boat that they stay on. My other uncle rents a house somewhere on the Island. This place is like my second home because i come here every year. I love it here and I think you guys should come here.

Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy was hard for everyone. My grandparents, aunts, cousins, and uncles all had to live together. My family didn't because we had generator. At night it was scary because it was dark. My mom and dad decided that all of the kids can sleep downstairs. We didn't get go trick or treating on Halloween instead we did it indoors. That was near my birthday and my parents gave us a surprise. They told us to all come into the kitchen. Then they said on Saturday we were going to Disney World. I didn't believe them at first until I asked my uncle. I was freaking out because I loved that place so much. When we were there they had another surprise for us. One of my best friends came when we were there. Her and her parents came down and it was awesome. We had so much fun going on the rides at the parks. They also stayed at the same hotel as us. Hurricane Sandy was actuality kind of fun for us.

Sports
Sports are hard for me because I'm disabled. I can't really play I tried soft ball once I didn't really like it. I'm afraid that balls would come and hit me. There's also too much running around and my legs get really tired. The sports I can do is swimming and horse back riding.
Horse back riding is lots of fun. Iv'e been doing it since I was three. I go once a day every week right after school. I don't go in the summer or winter because it's too hot or cold. I don't have one horse that I always ride on. There are many different horses just like my friends. My friend Grace got a horse his name is Suds and he gets to stay there.
I also do swimming lessons at my house. When I was little I did them at the YMCA. Now someone comes to my house and teaches me because we have a pool. It's lots of work but I'm really good. I can now swim in the deep end without anyone watching me. I know most of the strokes and I can also starting to learn how to dive. I don't wanna be on a swim team because I think that would be to challenging. Maybe in the winter I could do at the YMCA. Swimming is great for everyone and it's lots of fun.

I don't wanna be on a swim team because I think that would be to challenging. Maybe in the winter I could do at the YMCA. Swimming is great for everyone and it's lots of fun.

School can be hard
School is very hard for me I have a bad learning problem. It's all part about me being disabled. School is hard because I forget a lot of things all the time. I have to do extra work in the summer and on weekends. Some days I have hours and hours of homework. Doing homework can sometimes stress me out and get me really tired.
Test are also very difficult for me I have to work really hard. My mom and I have to spent at least an hour a day until the test is. I don't really like studding but my teachers and parents found some games for me. For example Quiz let. Quiz let is a spelling game where you type all the words. Then when all the words are done there are many games to play. The games will help you practice typing and spelling the words.
I don't like school that much because it's hard for me. It's hard for me to make new friends and learn. All kids have to go to school no matter what. I always wanted to be home schooled by my mom. Then I realized that school can sometimes be fun. If I was home schooled I would never gone to the school dances and parties. I wouldn't had any friends and plus my mom can't always teach me. Tuesdays and Thursdays she has to go to work. My dad works at home but he can't teach me because he has is own thing. Don't forget to learn hard and be a good student. From Kathleen

The RIGHT Way to say Goodbye to Your Kids (A message to parents)
In my last post I talked about how hard it was for my parents to leave on hospital trips. I know it is hard on everyone, so to make things a little easier I want to share some advice.
One moment in my life that sticks out to me was when my aunt had her second son. We were watching her first born and waiting for news. You must be wondering, what is so significant about that? Well, my uncle stopped by our house and wanted to talk to our cousin. He gave him his Ipad and said he had downloaded new games. My uncle's words were calm and quiet, he didn't want to leave. He hugged my cousin tightly and said he would be back soon with his new sibling.
There was nothing super special about what my uncle did, but it made such a big difference.
Parents: when you have to leave for the hospital or whatever else, hug your kids tightly. Give each of them a special message, a simple one. Just say I will be back soon, or I love you. Also, if you want, give them something that will keep their mind off the bigger picture. This could be new games on the I pad, a new DVD, or candy.
When going on a hospital trip, it is tough on everyone. Ease the ache for those you can.

Kindergarten
When Kathleen and I were in Kindergarten, a lot of stuff was going on in our lives. Our house was getting remodeled and we started Elementary School. However, something else happened that year, Kathleen got sick, really sick.
My parents had explained that Kathleen had an infection in her brain. So while I went to school, Kathleen and my parents went to a hospital.
My grandmother had picked me up from school that day because my parents were still gone. We all waited for news, sitting in the living room watching TV. Then, my dad came in. He said that they would need to stay longer. He asked me and my brother to get Kathleen's pillow and favorite toys.
I was happy to help, but I thought my father was dropping the stuff off and coming back. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. He said goodbye to me and my throat became choked up. Holding back tears, all I could do was nod. When he left tears flooded my eyes. They were quiet sad tears, unnoticeable to everyone around me.
I remember thinking, why can't one of my parents stay with me? This isn't fair! When will I see my parents again?
Anyway, in a few months Kathleen was fine, but that did come with some sacrifices. My sacrifices included spending less time with my parents and having my birthday party in the summer instead of
November like usual. We all have moved on from that time, but occasionally the feelings come back of complete abandonment. Then I realize, in the words of Poohbear "how lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

Hospital trips
Every three months my parents have to take me to the hospital. Most of you who have a disabled sibling probably don't know why they always have to go. Well were just going for checkups nothing personal. I go to CHOP which stands for Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia. I normally like going their because sometimes I get to miss school. Unless I know I'm getting a shot or something like that then I'm scared.
Sometimes I have to stay their over night which I don't mind doing. But I normally don't sleep good at the hospital. The nurses always come in and check on you and they wake you up. Plus theirs a lot of noises outside in the hallway which sometimes keeps me up. So if your sibling comes home looking tired it's because she didn't sleep good. So just give her sometime to rest and maybe in a day or 2 she will less tired.

My family vacations
My family and I love going on summer vacations. We go on lots of great ones for example Disney world.
Every April we drive down to Disney world with my uncle. It's lots of fun we go on rides, shop, eat and a whole lot more. Thanks to me my family gets to cut the line so we don't have to wait that long.
Next we go to Long Beach Island. My grandma has a house down their so my whole family on my moms side goes. This place is great too we go to the beach, on a boat, go on rides, shop, go to the water park, shop and get ice cream. My mom, uncles, aunt and grandparents came down when they were young. We had an old house until it got hit by Hurricane Sandy. My grandparents decide to rebuilt the whole thing. It took months by now it's twice as big. Plus theirs room for all of us.
The last place we go to is Great wolf lodge this place rocks. Theirs an indoor water park with over 6 different water slides. Theirs also some more things like a lazy river and an a basketball swimming area. Outside of the water park there's a quest called the magic quest. In this quest kids can find stuff with their magic wand and theirs many surprises. They can even do in there pj's. Also there's a store and two great restaurants.

Do I Have Less Compassion? / A Message to Parents
Of course, I love Kathleen, she is my sister. However, it is sometimes hard to accept her as who she is. This shouldn't be hard for me, we are twins! I am also know for being a very open and friendly person. The thing is, Kathleen being my twin is why I may have less compassion. Here is my reasoning and how I deal with it.
Like I said she is my twin, shouldn't we be somewhat similar? Shouldn't we be equal? Shouldn't we share the responsibilities? These were the thoughts that ran through my head daily. Even on some occasions I still feel this way. I understand that my sister is disabled and has to go through a lot, but shouldn't it be somewhat equal?
Whenever I feel like this I like to do something that I love and that I am good at. This gives me confidence and makes my world revolve less around my sister and more around me.
A message to parents: Always try to spend equal time no matter what it is with all your kids. Celebrate every little victory, every A in school, every step closer to a dream. Always encourage your kids to excel in their talents. Give truthful compliments tell them how amazing they are at what they do great. Build their confidence in something they love.

The Maturity Level May Not Always Be Equal
Like I have said earlier, my sister is different. She is a little immature.
Firstly, my sister has unique TV preferences. Wow Wow Wubbzy is intended for younger viewers, however my sister was a fan at the age of 10-11. Now that we are freshman, Kathleen is now getting into my favorite middle school shows. She is obsessed with Disney Channel currently. However, the one thing I CAN'T stand is Spongebob Squarepants. Plenty of people my age watch it, which is fine, but it is the most annoying thing.
My sister also has her own style. She likes to wear sweats or bike shorts out in public. Again, a lot of people do this, but it looks like pjs to me. However, I understand after going shopping with her. She has to go to the kids section at stores because of her height. Most of the clothes are for younger kids. Luckily we were able to find some awesome stuff for her.
As I said before, she loves to play with toys. She still enjoys Squinkies, My Littlest Pet Shop, Tsum Tsums, etc. She is doing what she loves now, but I loved it when I was much younger.
My sister may act a little younger than she is, but she can be mature at times too. She loves to watch Once Upon a Time with me. She also has started to look at fashion and updated her style. Kathleen still plays with toys, but it's her thing, something that she loves.
Now how do I deal with this? She is suppose to be my twin, have similar interest. I have grown to understand my sister and she has learned to mature and grow up with me. However, my brother teases her. He is still learning to understand.

Saturday stars
Hey guys I'm back so yesterday I told you some stories of my life. So today I'm going to tell you guys what Saturday Stars is about. Saturday Stars is a class for disabled kids and it runs every Saturday in the morning. In this class they do everything from cooking to music, piano, sports, art and more. There is something that everyone likes. There are two classes a little class for all the little kids and a big class for all the big kids. Sometime in October they have an event that raises money for the therapy place. I don't know what the place is called. At the event each year there's a different them and all the kids including me have to dance or sing for the parents. We also do an art projected of ourselves based on the theme. We also do piano recital in the spring and for Christmas. Saturday stars is lots of fun if any of you have a disabled child I think you should take them. It's for boys and girls. From Kathleen

Stories of my life
Welcome back, so yesterday I blogged about what my sister and I are doing for our girl scout sliver award. Now, I'm going to tell you guys a story about me because I'm disabled. For my 8th grade fled trip my sister, classmates and I went to Washington DC. It was hard for me because I can't walk that well so I had to get a wheelchair. One of the aids had to come with me so they can push me because I would get very tried if I did by myself with my hands. My family and I also go to Disney world every year so I get to cut the lines for the rides. We also go on the Disney cruise but that's easy for me. From, Kathleen
Story of My Life
My twin sister and I are COMPLETELY different. On the outside, I am tall with light brown hair, greenish blue eyes, pale skin, and A LOT of freckles. Kathleen is short with dirty blonde hair, pale blue eyes, somewhat tan, and no freckles. On the inside we are different too. I love to write, play basketball, participate in school clubs, and go shopping. I am also really good at school. My sister enjoys playing with toys, filming YouTube videos, and she does not like school. Sure, we are fraternal twins as in not the same, but we are the same age, shouldn't we be somewhat alike?
My sister was born with 22Q. When I was little I was told my sister was missing a piece of her heart. Soon I began to realize, most of the things I love my sister can't do or has trouble with. She can't run or play sports. School is hard for her. She also has a hard time getting involved in school activities and making friends.
I know it is not always easy to have a disabled sibling, trust me. She can be embarrassing, but so can I. She may have different interest, but many of my friends do too. I know if you are going through something similar you may feel that you get less attention or are less important. However, you get so much more than your disabled sibling. You can play any sport or game you want, can make friends easily, or do great in school.
As I got older I found ways my sister and I were similar. We both have wavy hair and a similar shaped face. We both enjoy going to Starbucks with our friends, and watching YouTube. I also noticed that we both have similar anxieties, Kathleen's is just a little more extreme because of her syndrome. We have our differences, but we are actually a lot alike, plus we are stuck with each other because we are sisters.

Sliver award blog #1
Hi everyone, for our Girl Scout Silver award we're doing an event for disabled children and their siblings. We're going to do it one weekend right after Saturday Stars. Saturday Stars is a class for disabled kids of all kinds like me. I was born with a broken heart and so I go to this class. We're going to do a cooking class and in the cooking class it's gonna be like cupcake wars. Each disabled kid is going to team up with their siblings and they are going to decorate some kind of cupcake. This event will be sometime in September because that's when Saturday Stars starts again. My sister and I are going to make a blog everyday until this event happens. After the event is over we might do a few more blogs. From, Kathleen
